Grants to Educators
Each year, the Plano ISD Education Foundation proudly awards $150,000 in individual and team grants to empower educators with the tools, programs, and experiences that go beyond what tax dollars can provide. These grants help fund innovative teaching methods, new technology, after-school programming, classroom materials, and unforgettable student experiences. Teachers, librarians, campus-based instructional specialists, and counselors are all encouraged to apply—whether for an individual project of up to $2,000 or a multi-campus collaboration of up to $3,500.
The Grants to Educators program is more than funding—it’s a celebration of educators’ creativity and dedication. Each fall, grant-winning teachers are surprised in their classrooms by the Grant Patrol, a lively group of community partners, volunteers, and district staff. This exciting day allows partners to see their contributions in action while witnessing teachers’ joy and appreciation firsthand. Funded projects span all grade levels and subjects—science, English language learning, special education, libraries, field trips, and more—impacting students from pre-K to senior high. “These grants symbolize that we believe in them and in the work that they are doing for our Plano ISD students,” shared Brittnea Ussery, Senior Executive Director of the Foundation.
“I love getting to see how excited the students are for their teachers, especially those younger students who don’t bother to hide their excitement. All of them will have a story to tell – their teacher is a winner, and those lucky students will find out in the grant presentation what their teacher has planned for them. Whatever the grant is intended for, we know that it is something special that was only made possible with the generous support of the Education Foundation and their partners.”
